The Scottish born, Canadian bred crooner displayed his culinary clout as a celebrity guest judge on the Food Network Canada program Top Chef Canada, which aired earlier this week.
"She was so nice. We got to know each other way back then.
Upon being assured his appearance was more than acceptable, actually a bit of a hoot, Reid concedes he's never seen the episode, taped about five months ago.

"The last year and a half of my life has been a little crazy," Reid said. "But it's been good. It's been positive."
Does the married father of four, 37, sometimes fear he's spreading himself too thinly?
Reid was also graced with good company, cutting duets with both Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Serena Ryder.
"And I think I was rejuvenated because of the response of the people. Everyday was the same day, basically . the same stage, the same band, different venues. The one thing that changed everything was the audience. And I got to know the audience better than I ever got to know the audience before."
Johnny Reid's got something cooking
"I said, 'Carolyn, all these people know all your songs. Why don't you just come out with an acoustic guitar and sing a few of your songs and let people sing along with you?' "
It could be dubbed an early taste of Johnny Reid for those starving to see him take the Sault Ste. Marie stage Monday night.
What emerged was a high energy offering recorded in Nashville and Toronto, blending soul, R rock and country.
"Yes, I was having a good time, that's for sure."
For Reid, it was more a place called creativity.

"I never forgot that," he said.
Reid is a busy man these days, juggling a recent record and tour launch with the odd small screen stint.
two go a long way back, all the way to Reid's salad days in the business.
That tour rolled through the Sault in November 2010.
The former is a guest on the current tour, playing both her own tunes and then joining Reid on stage for their New Balance 996 Pink Fire It Up duet, Baby I Know It.
